Terms of Use
Last updated: February 2025
1. Service Description
Signal (“the Platform”) is a consumer intelligence infrastructure for Africa’s night and dining economy operated by Signal Systems (“we”, “us”, “our”). The Platform enables venues, organizers, labels, and reps to manage RSVPs, check-ins, table reservations, and guest intelligence through web and mobile applications.
2. Accounts & Registration
By creating an account you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and that the information you provide is accurate and complete. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Authentication is managed through Clerk, our third-party identity provider. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.
3. Data Ownership
Venues own the full guest intelligence generated at their premises, including guest profiles, contact information, segmentation, and attendance history.
Organizers receive aggregate event metrics only—total RSVPs, check-in counts, show rates, and repeat attendance rates. Organizers do not receive guest PII or cross-event guest identity.
Brand partners receive only anonymised, aggregate insights. They never receive individual guest profiles or contact information.
4. Payments & Refunds
Payments for paid events and table reservations are processed through Paystack. All prices are displayed in Nigerian Naira (£). Refund policies are set by the event organiser for each event and are communicated on the RSVP page. Signal does not independently guarantee refunds; disputes should be directed to the organiser in the first instance.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform
- Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Platform without permission
- Impersonate another user or entity
- Transmit malware or any code designed to interfere with the Platform
- Use guest data for purposes other than those permitted by your account type
6. Intellectual Property
All content, trademarks, logos, and software associated with Signal are the property of Signal Systems or its licensors. You may not reproduce, modify, or distribute any part of the Platform without prior written consent.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Signal Systems shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you, if any, for accessing the Platform during the twelve months preceding the claim.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. Venue owners may request an export of their data prior to account deletion.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.
